Twitch is a video live streaming platform that launched in 2011, celebrating its 10th birthday in June, and allows creators to live stream video games to their viewers. Though the platform does focus on video games, it can be used to stream a variety of content categories including music streaming, cooking, and Q&A sessions. The service grew in popularity in 2013, the same year Youtube saw a rise in their gaming creators, and by 2014 Twitch was the fourth-largest source of internet traffic in the US. By early 2020 Twitch had 3 million creators monthly and 15 million daily users worldwide.

With Twitch being such a broad platform trends come and go quickly, with over 800 billion watch minutes in 2021 so far.
